Meet Our Team

Major Faye Shail is a Salvation Army officer who was commissioned and ordained in 1991. She began her ministry with nine years of church and parish work across Ontario and Quebec, establishing a strong foundation in congregational care and community service. Drawn to the specialized ministry of healthcare chaplaincy, Major Shail pursued clinical pastoral education and pastoral counselling training during her time as a chaplain at the Catherine Booth Hospital in Montreal. She subsequently served four years as a chaplain at Grace Hospital in Winnipeg before joining the Scarborough Grace Hospital in Toronto, where she served for seven years at the Birchmount Campus.

Major Shail then brought her expertise to Calgary, serving as Spiritual Care Director and Chaplain at Agape Hospice, where she provided compassionate end-of-life spiritual care to residents and their families. In 2018, she was appointed as Chaplain at Meighen Health Centre, where she later assumed the role of Director of Chaplaincy and Spiritual Care.

Throughout her career, Major Shail has demonstrated a deep commitment to holistic, person-centred care across a wide range of healthcare settings, from acute care and hospice to long-term care. Her ministry reflects over three decades of dedicated service to individuals and communities at their most vulnerable moments.
